The Matawan/Aberdeen School District is currently facing the largest budget crisis in memory. The arts program, including theater, is in a position to be particularly hard hit. Budgets are being cut across the board, effective immediately. That's right - in the middle of production, directors are being forced to choose between paying staff and paying suppliers.

But why should I do it through you? Can't I just donate to the theater directly?
If you handed money to one of the directors, they legally have to deposit it in the school accounts, price check items, apply for a purchase order, wait for it to be fulfilled...a process that can take weeks even at the best of times let alone in a budget crisis like this one. By taking your donations and purchasing the goods or services needed by the theater, MTAA can guarantee that every cent of your donation goes towards covering exactly what the theater needs most right now. For a limited time only the Matawan Theater Alumni Association will cover all the fees & costs associated with your donation. We'll pay the transaction fees, the credit card fees, everything, so that your entire donation goes toward getting what the schools' theater programs need immediately.
What do I get out of this?
Besides the satisfaction of Giving Back? The knowledge that you helped the arts in Matawan?
Every donor will be recognized on the MTAA website and in the next Legends program (unless you ask us not to list you).
Donor Levels include all your recorded donations through July 1st and are:
Patron ($0 - $19)
Star ($20 - $49)
Director ($50 - $99)
Producer ($100 - $249)
Muse ($250 - $499)
Thespis ($500 or higher)
*When "ordering" from the catalog, please note that MTAA reserves the right to distribute donations as necessary to best fit the needs of the program. For example: If more musicians are sponsored than required, we might use some of that money to cover something else not completely funded yet.
